Call for Applications: EAHAD Nurses Committee

The European Association for Haemophilia and Allied Disorders is inviting haemophilia nurses to apply for one (1) post on its Nurses Committee.

The position is to cover a maternity leave starting in September 2023 for a period of 10 months. The EAHAD Nurses Committee strongly encourages nurses from Southern and Eastern European countries to apply in order to have a greater diversity in terms of geographical representation on the Committee.

If you are interested in applying, please send a short letter of motivation (maximum 300 words) outlining why you wish to be a part of the committee. Please also include in the letter the following information:

  • Full name
  • Haemophilia Treatment Centre you are affiliated with
  • Number of years working with people with bleeding disorders
  • Whether you work with children, adults, or both
  • What are your day-to-day tasks
  • Specific areas of interest in the field of bleeding disorders nursing

Please send your letter to diana.carbonero@eahad.org no later than Friday 11 August 2023. It will be considered carefully by the current Nurses Committee members to select the applicants whose profile and motivations best fit with the
committee’s current composition.
Please note that in order to be considered for a place on the Nurses Committee, you must:

  • be a registered nurse
  • be able to speak and read English at an intermediate or higher level
  • be affiliated to a Haemophilia Treatment Centre in a specialist haemophilia nursing role, preferably participating in advanced nursing activities.

EAHAD Nurses Committee membership offers an opportunity to contribute to the development and implementation of nursing and inter-professional EAHAD projects and events, including the Pre Congress Allied Health Professionals Day. Members are expected to actively participate in the work of the committee, including attending 2-3 all day strategic planning meetings per year, in person, as well as monthly 1-2 hour teleconference meetings to discuss progress and work on different projects.

Next in person meeting will be in October. We estimate the average amount of work required to fulfill these duties is 6-8 hours per month.For more information on the Nurses Committee, please see the Terms of Reference.
