Developed by the EAHAD Very Rare Coagulation Factor Deficiency Working Group, this e-learning module explores pregnancy- and childbirth-related complications in women with VRCFD from both clinical and psychosocial perspectives.
Through expert presentations and case-based learning, the module examines the haemostatic changes occurring during pregnancy, the risk of miscarriage and postpartum haemorrhage, and the importance of timely diagnosis and appropriate prophylactic haemostatic treatment. It also provides practical insights into managing pregnancy in women with factor XIII and factor VII deficiencies, including monitoring, treatment strategies, delivery planning, and multidisciplinary care.
Beyond clinical management, the module addresses the psychological and psychosocial impact of pregnancy, pregnancy loss and childbirth complications, highlighting the importance of continuous psychosocial support for women, their partners and families throughout the pre-conception, antenatal and postnatal journey.
