On Thursday 17 October in Paris, at the National Sports Institute, the first inter-professional meeting of the Francophone Association of Physiotherapists specializing in Bleeding Disorders (Association Francophone de Physiothérapeutes spécialisés dans les Maladies Hémorragiques – AFPH) took place. The inaugural AFPH event brought together 45 physiotherapists and doctors from Belgium, France and Switzerland, with the objective to promote and develop physiotherapy in the field of bleeding disorders, as well as to strengthen the network between the professionals.
One of AFPH’s goals is to enhance the continuity of care through stronger communication between hospital and private practitioners. Both were well represented in this first meeting, which was divided to a theoretical morning (Presentation of the pathology, treatments, rehabilitation of young patients and adult patients), and a practical afternoon with 3 workshops (Ultrasound, pain, sport and physical activity).
The event received very positive feedback from everyone involved and, following its success, a second AFPH day will surely be organized in 2020.
